OK, something about me. Im 45, living in Groningen. My wife and I have two kids (boy aged 10 and girl aged 8). I am selfemployed, working on the interaction between government and civilians through the internet. More about me and my work here: www.remcokouwenhoven.nl
I have never been much of a gamer, though i did spend some time in SecondLife (which became rather boring). My discovery of Wow must have been about a year ago i think. Started a human mage and cant remember why. Somehow i never really found a good guild. Moved in and out of several guilds, discovering that most of them are centered around one person who uses the guild as his or her personal ticket to fame. My last guild (on Eonar) was mostly a chat-guild. The consequence of this is that my instance experience is mostly form pugging.
Pugging is about the most depressing experience you can have in WoW. Hanging around, hoping to get a half decent group together and then someone leaves, gets disconnected or whatever, so the LFG-game starts again. It even happend once that just before the final boss someone left "because i earned enough rep in this run"....... *sigh there have been times I seriously considered leaving WoW.
I had been looking for a more serious guild for quite some time when i talked to Hedzer (in a bar (where else?)) about Wow. And here i am. :-)
Im looking forward to raiding together. Improving my gameplay, improving my gear, but most of all having fun playing.
Ive been in Vintage for a couple of days now and already i notice that all are very friendly, very focused on the game, and very helpfull. In the last few days i had more fun and improved more on my gameplay than in several months before. Im looking forward to more!
I can only do so much
I can only do so much pugging. I have met some decent groups but also a lot of idiots :)
