I like the graphics around here btw, but ive also seen the original Jelle made, which looks better. The pics need a little tweaking (less white pixels and white edges).

I've always wanted to Dual Wield, but as paladins cant ive never done so. When i started with Kelthuna, i started wiht the thought of going Tank Dual Wielding. But after some reading on Elitestjerks i gave this idea up. You get to many parry's which only hastes the Boss, making it a bad idea in general. There is however a weird DPS DW specc for DK's...

With Daniel joining as a tank, Hedzer having good gear on both Shrubs and Teleute, and Jelle working on his tank gear, i think there is enough balance in the guild for me to try this DW specc out. Therefor i will respecc soon, and try DPS for a while. If we're short on tanks i can always respecc.

In 3.1 they have nerfed my Frost Dual Wield build to death. I tried it once and quickly respecced after i stopped crying. Last evening i tried the other and last viable Dual Wield specc, Unholy. It has good AoE dmg but mediocre single target dps. Problem is that im fairly sure that if i take roughly the same specc but use a 2H weapon my single target dps will increase.

I'm gonna try out the 2H specc to see what the difference is.

Trash dps looked great yesterday. Hope the 2H will improve that on single target, do you have a nice weapon for it?

Probably lower ilevel on his 2h than on his 1h weapons, if I remember correctly those were ilevel 200 and 213.

I still have Wraith Spear polearm from Naxx, its lvl 200. Should be good enough to give me an idea.

It's become pretty obvious. My Dual Wield Frost specc averaged a dps around 2100, Dual Wield Unholy 2400 on single target, and 2H Unholy 2650. This is with same gear (except weapon ofc) and roughly same raid composition. The 2H unholy was even on the hodir fight with all its running around, standing still i could reach 3000 on a single target which i couldnt manage with any of the DW speccs.

So, unfortunately, Dual Wield has been nerfed to death. Big bummer, i really liked the looks of it and the smg spam. I'm gonna stick to the 2H because the difference is to big to ignore.

Too bad we wont have the haste buff, thats one huge buff for melee DPS :(

So you'll no longer have the ticklish damage-spam, but now you can relish in the pleasure of Big Numbers.

I think DW dps is still viable, check this thread, it also links this wws log. It's about unholy, but it IS DW and he IS doing 6k dps :D

That guy is doing some impressive dps indeed. I have checked that EJ threat, even got the basis for my specc from it.

I havent done a in depth comparison, in time i will. But for now my first glance at the differences is favoring the 2H specc, which is no drama ofc its still good fun.

Im not giving up tho :D if i find a good excuse for DW i will go back ;)

Think im gonna have a go at Tanking again, at least untill 3.2 hits. When it does ill try out the new DW again.
