this is weird it changed the picture in base's thread to the one I uploaded last... Looks like it can only upload 1 picture from my harddrive at the time
you're not there... I tried uploading screenies yesterday of some recount stuff. In the screen at the bottom where you type stuff the post looked as intended, with the right pictures in the right place.
But once I clicked post comment it changed all pictures to the same one. I posted some nonsence pic in this thread a few days ago and now it changed that one to the recount screenie as well.
I'm not sure if you guys do see different pics in my posts but all they all look the same to me. I uploaded them from my harddrive using the "add image" option that's in the typing thingie...
Hope that makes more sense if not let me know I'll get on vent with you :)
I went into MC today :)
I took Tribunus (Ret) and Abase (Resto) and had a go at them big dudes.
Lucifron, Magmadar, Garr, Shazzrah Baron Geddon all went down! I skipped Gehennas after one try since I needed a lot more room (and practice) on him and did not want to clear all trash. I'll get back to him later, but he is a bit of a challenge with all the random damage flying around.
Sulfuron also posed some problems, since his 4 adds are healers. I'll have to think a bit on how to handle this one. But I'll definately be back for the next part....
Well I have been running a few raids as DPS, it has been a while :D But I feel like I am getting the hang of it again. My rotation (priority list these days) can still be improved quite a bit but at least I don't suck so hard anymore. Fortunately I feel like I am still pretty good on the movement and target switching since that's not much different than when tanking (easier even).
I have now also incorporated sundering into the list since I am the only one providing the 20% armor reduction, and its a huge boost now that we have some more melee running around. I have to get better at it since I either refresh it too fast to prevent it from dropping off (sometimes 10 seconds before I should) or I do let it drop off and have to start over (which means 7.5s of DPS lost....). Improving on this will greatly help my DPS.
I have also started to keep demo shout up, I believe that I am also the only one capable of the AP reduction. (I doubt Laurens will put up the curse since he is both lazy and there are probably much better ones to put up). In the same sense I think I should start using Thunderclap more on groups for the attack speed reduction. On both I might need some reminding, so don't be afraid to remind me.
I do have rage issues. The difference between my DPS when not taking damage or for example Mimiron P3 when I do take damage regularly feels huge. I think this is mainly a gear thing however so I am not too worried about that. But I do find myself having to wait for incoming rage too often meaning GCD is not what is limiting me as I believe it should be when I read comments from other arms warriors. I might have to re-examine getting hitcapped and expertise capped so I have a more steady stream of incoming rage.
I wont be thunderclapping on a single target since every tank spec should be applying the 20% debuff.
However since its linked (in the paladins case) to judgement this means there is a good chance it wont be up on all targets in an AOE situation like mimiron where a lot of adds spawn and probably not all get judged. So in that case it might be worth applying my (inimproved) thunderclap since it will hit all targets at the same time.
Does the DK (DPS)version hit all targets, and does it depend on spec? In that case I could forget about TC with a DK present :)
My Howling Blast (great AOE spell, part of my frost dps spec) provides Frost Fever to all targets it hits because of a glyph. If I'm tanking I use Icy Touch on a mob (which applies Frost Fever) and spread it using Pestilence.
When I'm blood dps specced I usually spread Frost Fever as well, since it's AOE dmg :)
In my unholy DPS build i also try to spread frost fever with pestilence, but i have other AoE abilities as well, its not on there right away, but it is in teh rotation.
When im tanking im using the same Howling Blast glyph combo that Hedzer uses in his DPS build.
I made a big effort and upgraded almost every piece of my gear (except for the damn shield) so I whould be a bit better geared for hardmodes now. The result:
+2,4K HP
+943 armor
+2,09% dodge
+0,77 parry
-2,65% block (not too important stat)
+59 block value
and a lot extra threat stats on top. If only I could replace that crappy shield....
I had 105 Triumph badges stacked and about 90 of the regular heroic ones. I was holding on to them because I was in doubt whether to upgrade my tank or DPS gear. I now chose tank gear because we want to start hardmodes and the tank gear is a must there, but my DPS was already acceptable even if its still a tier behind.
I am considering to try out Fury for my DPS spec. I am not sure my gear is good enough yet to make the switch but I guess its worth just trying it for a bit.
There are two big reasons for this:
- I am the sunderbot in our raids. In arms this means a big personal DPS loss especially in movement fights where sunder stacks might drop off. In fury there is a bit of room in the rotation (free global cooldowns) to fit in sunders with less DPS loss
- In arms I cannot interrupt. Interrupting is often important and this would add another (important) utility to my play.
And an added advantage is that all my attacks are instant again (slam currently requires me to stand still) so I will become more mobile.
The big test will be whether my gear is up to it, since the requirements are even higher than they are on arms*.
* short explanation for those that are not too familiar with warrior scaling problems: Undergeared warriors perform really poor, and they grow disproportionately with gear upgrades. The reason is rage: the better the gear the more rage we generate, so we only not hit harder on every attack but we can fit in more special attacks on top. Blizzard knows this problem but there is no easy fix.

After I upgraded my DPS gear I could not DPS in a raid for 2-3 weeks. Now I upgraded my tank gear and behold, I spend most of my time DPS-ing :P
I really dont mind, just motivates me to keep both specs in better shape.
